We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our AXON team, a key solution within the Automation Core platform. AXON serves as a single entry point for:

• Project onboarding,
• Self-service project configuration,
• Faster team and application onboarding with reproducible environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintenance and operation of our team's applications and Kubernetes clusters;
• Development (Python, Go, Helm Charts) and deployment using GitOps and Flux;
• Creating and continuously updating product documentation, including how-to guides for colleagues;
• Voluntary on-call duty readiness;
• Proactive incident resolution and alert handling;
• First-line maintenance support;
• Writing scripts and tools to enhance DevOps processes.

Tech stack:

• CI/CD: Magenta (GitLab, JFrog Artifactory)
• Orchestration: TCaaS (Kubernetes, Das SCHIFF, Germany), Helm, Flux
• Applications: AXON (Redpanda, Istio), Python, Go

Must-have skills:

• Excellent knowledge of container and cloud technologies (and their lifecycle) (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Flux) and related tools, Keycloak, and Vault.
• Many years of development experience in object oriented programming languages like Python and GO
• Reliable know-how with external cloud providers like AWS or Google Cloud, as well as knowledge of application and network security, Service mesh technologies (istio, kiali etc), Bash Scripting, and strong Linux skills.
• Work in agile teams with Kanban/Scrum and tools like Jira and Confluence
• English: fluent in spoken and written 
• Working in an international, agile team with dailies and presentations of product increments on a regular basis
• Proactive, communicative, and self-organized work (team player)
• Security, Automation and API first mindset
• Strive for eliminating toil, manual tasks and for simplicity
• Creativity, don´t expect every story to be imperative described (Co-creation of User Stories)

Nice-to-have skills:

• Terraform
• JFrog Artifactory
• Experience with GitOps platforms & tools in Germany (e.g. experience with DAS SCHIFF and YaRD)
