Job Description

DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

The Development Engineer assists in all phases of development including conceptual level design and analysis, full scale system development, prototype hardware design, fabrication, and system testing. Open positions range from entry level to Senior Engineer or Chief Engineer; typical candidates bring 0-10 years of relevant experience in the aerospace/defense industry

  • Participates in team-oriented development, planning and execution of projects requiring mechanical system development
  • Interfaces with and contributes to multi-discipline team analysis, development, and testing activities in providing total integrated support to multiple clients
  • Assists in the completion of client goals on time, within budget and ensuring products conform to the highest standards of excellence in terms of accuracy, completeness, and presentation
  • Supports business development and project performance efforts to meet customer needs, including requirements definition, proposal presentations and design reviews
  • Effectively interacts with technical staff for proposal development and project performance

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. or M.S. Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. 
  • Experience in mechanical development of aerospace systems, with exposure to electromechanical systems
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, and experience with GD&T
  • Experience with heat transfer, structural analysis, dynamics/ kinematics, advanced high-strength materials, CAD and machine design

 

SENIOR DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

The Senior Development Engineer performs a lead role in project management and program execution, and provides technical leadership for projects requiring the application and demonstration of aerospace and defense systems. Open positions range from entry level to Senior Engineer or Chief Engineer; typical candidates bring 0-10 years of relevant experience in the aerospace/defense industry.

  • Plays key role in proposal efforts and program management of projects requiring application of advanced mechanical and electromechanical system technologies 
  • Interfaces with and contributes to multi-discipline team analysis, development, and testing activities in providing total integrated support to multiple clients
  • Assists the program manager and/or project engineer in planning, assuring completion of client goals on time, within budget and ensuring products conform to the highest standards of excellence in terms of accuracy, completeness, and presentation
  • Effectively interacts with clients for business development including needs definition, proposal presentations, project definition and reviews

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. or M.S. Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience in mechanical development of aerospace systems with exposure to electromechanical systems
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, and experience with GD&T

SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER

The Senior Design Engineer performs a lead role in concept, development, design, test, and support deployment of aerospace and flight worthy structures, mechanisms, mechanical products and systems. Open positions range from entry level to Senior Engineer or Chief Engineer; typical candidates bring 0-10 years of relevant experience in the aerospace/defense industry.

  • Supports the engineering group in all aspects of mechanical design
  • Conceptualizes, develops, and designs structures, mechanisms, mechanical systems, and structures in accordance with customer requirements and customary standards
  • Performs comprehensive tolerance stack-up analyses
  • Supports proposal, quick-turn concept design and presentation efforts through CAD models and illustrations
  • Creates drawing packages for hardware ranging from prototypes to final design packages
  • Generates Bill of Materials for Assemblies, completes drafting packages of designs
  • Supports prototyping, hardware assembly, development testing and product qualification

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent in relevant experience and registration
  • Experience in mechanical development of aerospace and/or defense systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical design, engineering, drawing conventions and geometric tolerances, SolidWorks, GD&T
  • Strong mathematical skills, understanding of material properties, strength and stress formulas
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams
  • Detailed knowledge of design-based military and commercial specifications
  • 4000+ hours recent SolidWorks experience in mechanical design
  • Self-motivated, able to multi-task, work independently on assignments with minimal oversight or direction, quality-oriented and safety conscious
  • Possesses strong mechanical aptitude as well as creativity in solving problems

 

SYSTEMS ENGINEER

The Systems Engineer provides technical leadership to engineering teams for developing mechanical and pyrotechnic systems and components that exceed customer expectations. Open positions range from entry level to Senior Engineer or Chief Engineer; typical candidates bring 0-10 years of relevant experience in the aerospace/defense industry.

  • Provides technical oversight of customer interactions, including conference calls, meetings and reviews
  • Coordinates and balances emphasis on engineering design, analysis and test activities to produce a robust design
  • Models system level behavior, guides test plan development to validate system performance, and verifies compliance to requirements
  • Performs requirements assessments and requirements decomposition
  • Supports development of engineering reports and presentations, interface control drawings and interface description documents
  • Mentors, trains and develops engineers with lesser experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. or M.S. Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Exemplifies leadership and guidance in general aerospace engineering knowledge including structural analysis, FEA, physics-based modeling, dynamics / kinematics, advanced high-strength materials, design and test
  • Experience with development of mechanical systems and structures, electronics, electrical cabling, system integration and qualification testing

PROJECT ENGINEER/PROGRAM MANAGER

The Project Engineer/Program Manager leads engineering teams to develop mechanical and pyrotechnic components and systems that exceed customer expectations. Manages customer interactions, including conference calls, meetings and reviews. Leads engineering design, analysis and test activities to produce a robust design. Leads documentation of engineering activities in drawings, reports and presentations. Conducts project planning to determine project cost and schedules, and to identify resource needs. Supports business development, including proposal writing and new business meetings.

  • Applies general aerospace engineering knowledge including CAD, structural analysis (including FEA), physics-based modeling, design and test of mechanical systems and structures, electronics, electrical cabling, system integration and qualification testing to lead engineering teams in the development of mechanical and pyrotechnic components and systems that exceed customer expectations
  • Applies specialized engineering expertise in one or more of the following: CAD, structural analysis, pyrotechnic components and systems or rocket propulsion to the development of mechanical and pyrotechnic components
  • Develops long-term business relationships through programmatic and technical interactions with customers 
  • Works with key suppliers and vendors to develop products
  • Supports business development, including proposal writing and new business meetings

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. or M.S. Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Typically possesses 7+ years of experience in mechanical development of aerospace systems with exposure to electromechanical systems
  • Experience with structural analysis, dynamics/ kinematics, advanced high-strength materials, CAD and machine design
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, plan and execute projects

STRUCTURES & ADVANCED MATERIALS ENGINEER

The Structures and Advanced Materials Engineer conceptualizes, develops, designs, tests, and supports deployment of aerospace and flight worthy structures, mechanisms, mechanical products and systems. A primary focus is to analyze processes and procedures in order to improve product manufacturing efficiency and quality, and support new business development efforts. Specialized roles on this team include: Stress Analyst, Materials & Process Engineer, Design Engineer and Program Manager.
