Service Design & Transition Manager
- Full-time
- Department: Technology
Job Description
Sysco (whose UK operating companies include Brakes, Fresh Direct, KFF & Medina) is recruiting for a Service Design & Transition Manager to join the Business Technology team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Service Management professional to play a key role in ensuring new and enhanced technology services are successfully transitioned into live operation, supporting approximately 4,000 users across the UK business.
Our role is offering hybrid working, with 2 days a week in the Ashford office, so you must be within a commutable distance.
You will work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders, strategic vendors and outsourced partners to ensure new services and system enhancements are introduced smoothly, effectively and with minimal operational risk.
In this varied role, you will lead all aspects of Service Design and Transition across Business Technology, defining and maintaining the standards, processes and governance required to introduce new and upgraded services into production. Acting as the key link between project delivery and operational support teams, you will ensure services are fully supported, risks are managed effectively and service readiness activities are completed successfully. You will also drive continuous service improvement, develop robust service models, oversee design and transition activities across multiple workstreams and ensure services deliver value, performance and operational excellence.
We're looking for someone with significant experience working within a complex IT service environment and a strong understanding of ITIL Service Management principles. You will ideally have experience defining Service Design and Transition frameworks, introducing new services into live operations and working closely with project teams, service delivery teams and third-party vendors. Strong stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to balance operational risk with business requirements and manage multiple priorities effectively.
A solid understanding of enterprise technologies and service architectures would be highly beneficial, as would experience working within outsourced managed service environments. You will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong organisational abilities and confidence using Microsoft Office applications. ITIL qualifications, experience with change, problem and major incident management, and degree-level education or equivalent professional experience are advantageous.
Most importantly, you will demonstrate a proactive approach, resilience and a passion for service excellence. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to influence how technology services are designed, introduced and supported across the business, working closely with senior stakeholders, project teams and strategic vendors while helping shape the future direction of Service Management within Sysco.
