Job Description

To support this mission, Syngenta's Supply Chain – Customer Operations team is seeking a Customer Operations Lead in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

This role will  lead and optimize end-to-end customer operations in Argentina, supporting the Fruits & Vegetables (F&V) and Crop Protection South (CP South) businesses, ensuring excellence in the Order-to-Cash cycle, inventory management, customer master data integrity, and service delivery to distributors and sales partners. This role is the operational bridge between the commercial team and Supply Chain, responsible for driving continuous improvement, leveraging digital tools and analytics, and developing a high-performing team aligned with Syngenta's customer-centric strategy and P&S Capabilities framework.

Accountabilities 

  • Order-to-Cash Execution: Lead the full Order-to-Cash cycle, from order entry through invoicing and delivery, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time service.
  • Inventory & Stock Management: Coordinate product availability, inventory levels, stock rotation, shelf-life/expiry management, and distribution with Supply Chain and Logistics teams.
  • Customer Master Data Oversight: Supervise master data maintenance in SAP when applicable, ensuring integrity, completeness, and continuous improvement of customer records. Drive standardization of creation/modification processes and periodic audits.
  • Sales Partner & Commercial Interface: Serve as the primary operational contact for sales partners and the field sales team. Provide contextualized support based on regional agricultural knowledge, participate in commercial alignment meetings, and manage escalations.
  • Team Leadership & Capability Development: Manage, coach, and develop the Customer Operations Specialists team. Set clear objectives, track KPIs, apply the P&S Capabilities framework to assess and grow team members, and foster a customer-first culture.
  • Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence: Identify and execute initiatives to streamline processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance service levels. Leverage data, analytics, and process mining to drive decisions and measure impact.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and the commercial team to resolve operational challenges, align priorities, and optimize customer experience.
  • Digital Transformation & Analytics: Champion adoption of digital platforms, self-service tools, AI capabilities, and automation to streamline customer interactions, improve forecasting, and generate actionable insights.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, quality and HSE requirements, legal regulations, and audit documentation standards.
  • Proactively manage supply or service disruptions through timely communication and corrective actions.

Qualifications

Required  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Customer Operations, Commercial Operations, Order Management, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
  • Solid knowledge of Order-to-Cash processes and customer master data management.
  • Proficiency in SAP SD/MM and advanced Excel; experience with Power BI, Qlik, or similar analytics/reporting tools is valued.
  • Knowledge of logistics, warehouse operations, and distribution in Argentina.
  • Understanding of Argentine agricultural regions, seasonal cycles, and agricultural market dynamics.
  • Strong customer focus, analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Commercial and financial acumen, with an understanding of how operational decisions affect service, margin, and profitability.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced English proficiency.

Desired 

  • Experience in agriculture, agrochemicals, FMCG, specialty crops, or Fruits & Vegetables.
  • Knowledge of pricing, commercial terms, credit, margin management, and cost-to-serve drivers.
  • Exposure to digital transformation, automation, AI tools, process mining, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lean Six Sigma, project management, or process-improvement certification.
