Job Description

To support this mission, Syngenta’s Finance Business Partnering team is seeking a P&S Finance Vegetables America in Montevideo, Uruguay. As P&S Finance Lead for Americas Vegetables, you will be the primary finance business partner for the regional P&S organization, covering field production, plant operations, quality control, and distribution. You will own month-end close, management reporting, budgeting, standard costing, and forecasting, while guiding the Americas Financial Analyst (India, dotted line). You will also represent P&S Finance on the Global Quality Control Leadership Team, bringing Americas insights into global strategic discussions. Digital fluency is essential, including active use of AI tools, data visualization, and predictive analytics.
Accountabilities
- Own finance for Americas Vegetables P&S operations, including field production, tolling, distribution, quality control, and plant operations.
- Lead month-end close, ensuring accurate accruals, cost allocations, and timely sign-off.
- Drive monthly reporting and forecasting, explaining variances, risks, opportunities, and full-year outlooks with the Americas P&S LT’s.
- Lead budgeting and standard costing, coordinating with business managers and providing guidance on cost targets.
- Support internal audits, remediation actions, controls, and the Americas P&S Delegation of Authority matrix.
- Lead process and system improvements and provide ad-hoc analysis to support timely, robust business decisions.
- Facilitate cross-regional collaboration with Americas, APAC, and India to benchmark performance and support consistent decisions.
- Continuously improve the Americas P&S finance support model, including processes, governance, reporting, and ways of working.
- Lead, guide, and develop the Americas Financial Analyst through clear priorities, quality review, feedback, and capability building.
- Drive adoption of AI tools, data visualization, and predictive analytics across Americas P&S Finance.
- Partner with the Americas Financial Analyst to automate recurring reporting and increase analytical value.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- 10+ years of finance experience, preferably in agricultural, production, or supply chain environments.
- Senior finance business partnering experience with regional leadership teams, including month-end, budgeting, standard costing, and forecasting ownership.
- Experience leading and developing finance analysts, including virtual or dotted-line relationships.
- Experience contributing to cross-regional or global functional leadership discussions.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, COGS, inventory management, CAPEX appraisal, and governance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with BI/data visualization tools, SAP, and MS Office; predictive analytics is an advantage.
- Ability to manage stakeholders across Globe.
