To support that challenge, we’re looking for a: Procurement Specialist
Job Description
Location: Atessa, Italy (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Fixed-term, maternity leave cover
Salary Range: €40,000–€51,000 gross per year, depending on experience
The Role
Reporting to the Global Natural Extracts & Biostimulants Procurement Lead, the Procurement Specialist will contribute to the effective management of procurement activities in line with business strategy, quality standards and efficiency targets.
The role will play an important part in the global implementation of the new SAP S/4HANA system, helping optimise purchasing processes and promote sustainable, compliant operations across the organisation. This is a valuable opportunity to work in an international environment on a high-impact transformation initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the global implementation of SAP S/4HANA, contributing to the optimisation and standardisation of procurement processes.
- Manage supplier relationships from scouting and qualification through to purchase order issuance, monitoring efficiency and compliance.
- Support supplier negotiations and allocate purchasing requirements to the most appropriate suppliers.
- Maintain purchase orders, including delivery-date and price updates.
- Monitor tender processes, prepare bid analyses and contribute to supplier-selection meetings.
- Work closely with Purchasing and other relevant functions to identify and communicate supply issues that may affect business operations.
- Support the Global Natural Extracts & Biostimulants Procurement Lead in investment and other strategic projects.
- Collaborate with the Legal Department in defining supply contracts, ensuring alignment with company policies and standards.
- Monitor supplier performance, including post-contract performance.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement processes, procedures and effective approaches to complex issues.
- Ensure full adherence to health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Who We Are Looking For
- 2/3 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in Procurement, Supply Chain or roles supporting complex projects.
- Strong interest in purchasing processes, operational excellence and sustainability.
- Good understanding of supplier management, tendering and purchase-order processes.
- Proactive, results-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively in dynamic, cross-functional environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of company systems and ways of working will be considered a plus.
- Professional working proficiency in English; Italian is required.
