In this hands-on laboratory role, you will design and execute practical process chemistry work — developing scalable, safe, and cost-effective synthetic routes for crop protection candidates. Whether you're a highly skilled Laborant with deep applied chemistry expertise or hold a master's degree in organic chemistry, we value resourceful scientists who combine strong bench skills with a process-oriented mindset.

Accountabilities:

  • Independently plan and execute route scouting and process optimization studies using a broad range of synthetic and analytical techniques.
  • Characterize reaction profiles, outcomes, and document process understanding to support scale-up decisions.
  • Take ownership of your work, proactively solving synthetic problems and applying new methods or technologies to improve processes.
  • Ensure highest standards of laboratory safety and HSE compliance.
  • Maintain high standards of laboratory productivity, data quality, and electronic laboratory notebook documentation.
  • Report regularly on process chemistry findings in oral and written form.

Qualifications

  • MSc in Chemistry, or vocational chemistry training (Laborant) with demonstrated applied synthesis experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in multi-step synthesis, reaction optimisation, and standard purification/characterisation techniques (HPLC, NMR, crystallization, flash chromatography).
  • Solid understanding of organic reaction mechanisms and functional group transformations.
  • Results-oriented mindset with strong practical skills and attention to detail in the laboratory.
  • Good planning skills and ability to deliver under time pressure.
  • Self-motivated with initiative to continuously develop technical expertise.
  • Collaborative spirit and clear communication skills.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken.
