Job Description

To support this mission, Syngenta's Operations & Trialing Team is seeking a Facility Lead in Malta, IL. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations, maintenance, and management.
The Facility Lead will ensure that the organization's facilities are safe, efficient, and conducive to productivity. The role involves strategic planning, budget management, team leadership, and the implementation of best practices in facility management.
Accountabilities:
- Direct 24/7 facility operations of R&D centers, such as strategic planning, capital improvements, and budget management to ensure optimal functionality and organizational alignment.
- Lead facilities staff and manage vendor relationships, such as performance management, contract negotiations, and partnership with Procurement on pricing arrangements.
- Oversee comprehensive maintenance programs, space utilization, renovations, and construction projects across all facilities.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and building codes while maintaining robust security protocols.
- Drive sustainability initiatives and energy management programs to optimize operational efficiency and environmental impact.
- Serve as primary point of contact for facility matters, managing stakeholder communications and reporting to senior management.
Qualifications
Required:
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without requiring current or future sponsorship (including OPT/CPT visas).
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering or 5+ years of experience in facilities management at critical research/manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of building maintenance, sustenance and systems.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience in project management, CMMS, and budget oversight.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and business software applications.
Desired:
- Certifications: LEED, PMP, and/or CFM.
- Agricultural and R&D experience.
Additional Information
Salary for this position ranges between $104,800 - $131,000 annually.
