Job Description

To support this mission, Syngenta's Regulatory Affairs Team is seeking a Regulatory Product Manager in Greensboro, NC. This role will serve as the primary regulatory contact for assigned active ingredients and products, engaging directly with federal and state agencies to enable rapid growth of Syngenta's biological portfolio.
Accountabilities:
- Drive high quality, timely and accurate submissions to EPA and state lead agencies for new and existing biological products.
- Develop and execute US registration strategies for assigned biological active ingredients and formulated products, from early development through commercialization and lifecycle management.
- Scope regulatory pathways and data requirements at key stage gates in the product development lifecycle, proactively identifying risks and timelines that inform business decisions.
- Deliver license to sell for new products and uses in the US that are fit for purpose and with a label that meets grower needs, while being protective of human health and the environment.
- Maintain existing registrations, manage label amendments, and execute product life cycle management strategies including new crop and use expansions for assigned biocontrols, biostimulants, and fertilizers.
- Maintain and submit USDA APHIS permits for microbial products as required by commercial and field development teams, as well as OMRI certifications as required.
- Manage state registration filings and coordinate with state agencies across the US portfolio.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with EPA, state regulators, and industry associations; advocate for the best possible regulatory outcomes.
- Develop and manage regulatory product labels in partnership with biology and product leads, ensuring legal compliance and maintaining license to sell.
- Actively manage project timelines and milestones, align priorities, coordinate with peers to ensure regulatory commitments are met, proactively escalate issues to leadership.
- Partner with other teams within R&D, as well as Commercial teams to integrate regulatory strategy into product development plans and business cases.
Qualifications
- Minimum MS degree in a science-related field with 5+ years in crop protection regulatory affairs, or BS with 7+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience with biological pesticide regulation, including direct submission experience with EPA's Biopesticides and Pollution Prevention Division (BPPD) – required.
- Knowledge of biological pesticides (microbials, biochemicals, and/or plant-incorporated protectants), biostimulants, and the agriculture industry – required.
- Prior experience managing state registrations is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with USDA APHIS permitting processes for microbial products is preferred.
- Experience working within a stage-gate product development process is an advantage.
- Background in continuous improvement initiatives and regulatory data management is desirable.
- Stakeholder engagement: Builds effective working relationships with internal teams, external agency contacts, and industry partners.
- Adaptability: Navigates ambiguity and evolving policy in a rapidly changing regulatory environment for biological products.
- Collaboration: Works effectively in a team-oriented environment, sharing knowledge and supporting portfolio-wide objectives.
