Job Description
Role Purpose:
The Manager Seed Licensing and Market Access will lead the local fitness to operate and lead the Market Access strategy for Syngenta Field Crops to protect and enable current and future business considering expectations from the State Agriculture bodies.
The strategy will span sustainable and responsible towards market access in obtaining sales permission in various states for Syngenta Field Crops for a smooth License to Operate (LTO) environment.
Accountabilities:
The Manager Seed Licensing and Market Access, will lead the local fitness to operate and sustainability strategy for Syngenta FC operations in India through the following functional responsibilities:
LTO and Market Access:
- Identify key stakeholders, understand their priorities, and develop a strategic plan for engagement and market access in key states for India Field Crops
- Present Syngenta’s position to the state government to safeguard our business interests.
- Monitor political, regulatory and economic developments, identify trends with implications for business, and engage to build coalitions with stakeholders to advocate for or against and advance policies.
- Advises the Field Crops Leadership team on the business implications of any changes in the Seed Bill or government policies.
- Maintain close liaison with Industry Association to develop synergies and pursue ambitions of mutual interest.
- Develop transparent and measurable KPIs and assess the business impact of advocacy efforts.
- Must have a fair knowledge of Agricultural Policies, Reputational risk management, and ensuring image management.
- Strong liaison with external stakeholders such as Law Enforcement Agencies, State Department of Agriculture for resolving any conflicts arising out of LTO challenges.
Sales Permission and Seed Label Declaration:
- Develop and implement/supervise the Sales Permission and Seed Labelling strategy, taking into account India Field Crops Business and advising the India FCLT on local stakeholder expectations, local policy initiatives and local business strategy.
- Align the Sales Permission requirements with Division Sales Lead, P&S team for timely access of Sales Permission and Seed Label declaration objectives by determining local governance processes and required collaboration processes with local Sales, Marketing, Agronomy, P&S, R&D functions
- Ensure clear, individual plans are in place which deliver against each pillar of the strategy specifically building acceptance for our new hybrid launches.
- Ensure Syngenta FC seeds business strategy limited to Customer Centricity is well understood by the local government bodies, scientific community and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure that there is an effective and well-functioning horizon scanning and crisis management system in place across the FCLT and report escalation if necessary.
