Job Description

At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, Syngenta is seeking a Soybean Product Manager in Lisle, IL.

This role drives the successful launch and commercial growth of Syngenta's soybean portfolio by connecting product development with market strategy to deliver proven, high-value solutions to growers across the US.

Territory: The Midwest

Accountabilities: 

  • Product Evaluation & Advancement: Lead precommercial trial protocols, analyze performance data across various environments, and ensure all criteria are met before a product moves to commercialization.
  • Product Expertise & Lifecycle Management: Serve as the go-to product expert from advancement through end of life, supporting route-to-market decisions, channel strategy, and market positioning.
  • Technical Training & Alignment: Deliver technical training and positioning guidance to commercial teams while collaborating with agronomy and sales to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Market Execution & Growth: Drive product adoption and market share across all channels (NK, GH, GLG, Distribution) by optimizing product placement, monitoring market trends, and providing strategic recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Brand Representation: Build and maintain key account relationships, attend trade shows, and serve as a brand ambassador to strengthen Syngenta's presence in the market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in seed product development, agronomy, product strategy, or product management.
  • Familiarity with seed market dynamics and economics; from seed suppliers to resellers and growers.
  • Understanding of seed regulatory and quality requirements for commercialization.
  • Knowledge of soybean production systems, such as geographical differences related to cropping systems, disease & pest pressure, and weed management programs.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority across R&D, agronomy, sales, and marketing functions.
  • Experience in translating technical trial data into actionable commercialization strategies.
  • Background in pricing, demand forecasting, and inventory management for agricultural products.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration between R&D, commercial, and supply chain teams.
