Job Description

To support this mission, Syngenta is seeking a Process Improvement & Automation Lead in Montevideo, Uruguay. This role will serve as a catalyst for operational excellence within the North America Finance organization.
The NA Seeds Finance Process Improvement & Automation Lead will drive the identification, design, and implementation of end-to-end process improvements and automation solutions, connecting finance strategy with tangible operational results, and building sustainable capabilities within the team.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of automation solutions for identified finance critical processes to significantly reduce manual effort, improve data accuracy, and enhance efficiency.
- Develop and automate key financial metrics and dashboards to improve the quality and timeliness of insights reviewed in Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs).
- Document, standardize, and optimize finance processes through the development of end-to-end Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with a focus on scalability and sustainability
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs and user-friendly documentation to ensure Finance team members can effectively own, maintain, and troubleshoot automated tools and new processes post-assignment.
- Act as a change agent, guiding stakeholders through process transitions and new tool adoption to ensure high user acceptance and sustained benefits
- Partner closely with Finance and IT teams throughout the S/4 HANA design process to ensure business requirements are accurately captured, future-state finance processes are optimized, and the system design supports automation opportunities.
- Translate complex finance business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements for system implementation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with a focus on process optimization, data analytics, or systems design.
- 3-5 years in a dedicated process improvement, business analysis, or automation specialist role.
- English: Advanced level (mandatory)
- Proficiency in data analysis/visualization (e.g., advanced Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
- Certifications in process improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, BPM) and/or automation platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, RPA Developer) are valued
- Finance or accounting background is highly valued.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing automation solutions with measurable business impact.
- Experience mapping, analyzing, and optimizing end-to-end business processes across various functions.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Prior exposure to ERP systems (SAP preferred) and understanding of integration points.
- Experience training and enabling non-technical users to adopt new tools and processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; structured approach to root cause analysis and solution design.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence without direct authority.
- Proven project management skills, capable of managing multiple initiatives and delivering within timelines.
- Proactive change agent mindset, adept at fostering adoption of new processes and technologies.
