Job Description

To support this mission, Syngenta’s Hiring Team is seeking an Onsite Trainee Flow Calorimetry in Muenchwilen , Switzerland.
Role purpose:
We're seeking a Trainee in Muenchwilen to characterize flow calorimetry reactor and create models, besides support establishing SOP and best practices in flow calorimetry experiments. You will also support establishing workflow for assessment of data from flow calorimetry experiments.
Accountabilities:
- To work under the guidance and supervision of Syngenta Staff.
- To carry out activities in strict compliance with Syngenta HSE policy and general instructions.
- To provide concepts, ideas and detailed work plans for the completion of tasks and activities.
- Determine/define experimental methodologies, participate in risk assessment and to implement independently in laboratory.
- Accurately record data using Syngenta ELN or other reporting tool as required and to ensure the data is available for future users.
- To report findings, results and projects clearly and appropriately (written reports, PowerPoint presentations, verbal communications and poster sessions).
- To maintain confidentiality of Syngenta data.
Qualifications
- Research internship in a chemistry / chemical engineering laboratory.
- Student in process of completing a masters degree in Chemical engineering.
- Good spoken and written English is a must. Ability to communicate in German is an advantage.
- Effective planning with flexibility to respond to changing situation and uncertainty.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Knowledge in Python / oriented object programming language.
- Knowledge/Awareness of data analysis/modelling.
- Presentational / report writing skills.
- Prior experience with flow chemistry is a strength.
- Enquiring and questioning approach.
- Enthusiastic and proactive engagement with laboratory teams, engineers, chemists and data science staff.
- Rigorous and organized.
