Job Description

At Syngenta, we believe every employee has a role to play in safely feeding the world and taking care of our planet. To support that challenge, the Vegetables & Flowers Seeds Development team is currently seeking a Data Analyst located in Pune, India.

The primary responsibility of the Data Analyst is to manage data through ETL processes from diverse sources including databases, APIs, spreadsheets, and unstructured data. This involves cleaning, normalizing, and transforming raw data into actionable insights while maintaining data quality standards and developing automated solutions. Leveraging Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) to create efficient data workflows and visualizations.

What You Will Be Doing

  1. Data Management You will be responsible for implementing comprehensive ETL processes across various data sources while establishing and maintaining robust data quality control mechanisms. Your role involves developing and documenting clear data collection methodologies, with a strong focus on maintaining data accuracy and consistency throughout all processes.
  2. Analysis & Insights You will apply statistical analysis techniques to uncover meaningful patterns and trends in complex datasets, while developing predictive models and analytics solutions that drive business value. This includes generating actionable insights from datasets and maintaining a thorough understanding of market intelligence and competitive landscape.
  3. Visualization & Reporting You will design and develop interactive dashboards and reports that effectively communicate data insights, creating impactful visualizations that tell compelling data stories. This includes implementing automated reporting solutions and presenting findings to stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner.
  4. Process Automation & Apps  You will take ownership of designing and developing Power Apps solutions for efficient data collection and visualization, while creating streamlined automated workflows using Power Automate for data processing. This role requires seamless integration of Power Platform solutions with existing data systems, along with maintaining and optimizing Power Platform applications.
  5. Collaboration & Communication You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and address their data needs, effectively translating business requirements into technical specifications. This includes maintaining comprehensive documentation of data processes and methodologies, while providing data literacy support to team members.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or economy.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3-6 years of experience in data analysis
  • Experience working with agriculture data (preferred).
  • Experience working mainly in a primary data environment with little to no secondary data.
  • Knowledge of visualization techniques and when to apply them.
  • Extensive experience using PowerBI and Qlik to bring data insights to life for broad audiences
  • Working knowledge of Python to acquire, analyze, clean data.
  • Understanding of effective data modeling strategies and implementations.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced data analysis skills Excel.  Experience with R and SQL is beneficial.
  • Basic statistics proficiency.
  • Able to translate business intelligence needs from a variety of stakeholders into the technical execution and presentation.
  • Experience working with executives and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Strong communication skills - able to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficiency in SQL and database management
  • Experience with Python for data analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Expertise in visualization tools (Qlik/Power BI)
  • Working knowledge of Power Platform:
    • Power Apps development
    • Power Automate workflow creation
    • Microsoft Dataverse understanding
  • Understanding of statistical methods
