Job Description

Role purpose

Support the tomato nursery activities on GSPP site.

Accountabilities

 

HSEQ:

  • HSE, Respect the principles of quality in GSPP
  • Contribute to the upholding of HSE standards within local work environment, maintaining a safe and co-operative working environment

 

Young plan:

  • Support breeding activities (crop development, harvest, selection activities, data collection).
  • Reporting about situation of crop and Management of tomato selection team.
  • Data collection: visual notation and quantitative data.
  • Guarantee a good quality of work and good traceability.

 

Experimentation Trials:

 

  • Provide support to BO specialist Tomato lead to success the trials: sowing, Planting, Notation, harvest and sending seeds to the final destination.
  • Data collection and data integration in IT systems (MINT, SPIRIT, VEGA…)
  • guarantee and secure the whole process from the experimentation of sowing to seeds shipment.
  • follow and maintain Biosafety rules on crops according to standards (GSPP) and others.

 

Management and Performance:

 

  • Adaptation to technological developments.
  • Anticipate, planning tasks.
  • Ensure good communication with other teams.
  • Spirit of cooperation and knowledge sharing.
  • Continuous Improvement of the way of working.

 

Qualifications

Critical Knowledge & skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Sciences or equivalent

Knowledge in horticultural crops, plant breeding, management and development of computer applications, knowledge of data collection in crops

  • good sense of interpersonal relations and sense of organization.
  • Ability to think imaginatively and creatively.
  • Ability to perform at a high level within a team/project environment, using critical thinking skills to deliver outputs in a timely manner.
  • Capability in organization/ observation.
  • establish and manage the weekly activity schedule with the team.
  • Ability to motivate self and others, identifying development opportunities and key training needs.
