Job Description

Role purpose:

The Supply Chain Finance Analyst is part of the Flowers EAME Supply Chain Finance team. This team supports the EAME Supply Chain in achieving its goals. You will partly support with Young Plants financial activities and partly support with Unrooted Cuttings financial activities.

The objective of the role is to support the SC Finance Lead in the day-to-day activities, but also working closely together with the Young Plant Finance Business Partner and the URC Finance Business Partners.

Main tasks are supporting with month end close related activities, preparing periodical performance reports and analysis, discussing underlying assumptions, reasons for major deviations and identifying key risks and opportunities. In this way you will support decision making in the EAME supply chain area. The finance team has a leading role in the budget, forecast and strategic processes and act as a change agent in developing new ways of working. Besides EAME related activities, you also play a key role in the financial administration process and analysis regarding our 3rd party URC supplier Vivero and our own production location Kapok Guatemala that supply the North America markets.

Accountabilities:

  • Support SC Finance Lead in day to day activities and work closely together with YPL Finance Business Partner and Unrooted Cuttings Finance Business Partners. Also have close contact with production sites like Kenya Cuttings, Ethiopia Cuttings and Young Plant Production in the Netherlands.
  • You will work on reporting & analysis, which must lead to correct, complete and timely financial reporting. Also support with financial administration related activities.
  • Support with month end close:
  1. Support with the monthly preparation, coordination and delivery of the financial EAME SC results against budget, latest outlook and prior year.
  2. Book journal vouchers with accruals.
  3. Analyze the monthly results and perform corrective bookings where needed.
  4. Support the YPL and URC Finance BP in preparing the MBR presentation (Monthly Business Review) which should give a clear understanding of the financial results of the given month to Head of Production and Head of Operations.
  • Conduct analysis on production and processing variances, providing meaningful insights into the causes of the variances and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintain, report and develop KPI’s.
  • Develop and conduct financial analysis to support decision making in the EAME supply chain area. Think about specific analysis on request as well as own initiatives for YPL or URC, but also EAME related reports like tracking of CAPEX expenditures, travel expenses, etc.
  • Support the budget, forecast and strategic processes.
  • Assure the correct inter-company invoicing between the URC Farms and the Netherlands.
  • Be responsible and own financial administration and analysis related to production sites Vivero and Kapok, that supply North American market. Ensure all the activities related to the 3rd party vendor management (Vivero) are actioned and analysed on time and deviations reported to the supply chain Finance Lead. You will also support in financial reporting regarding our own production side Kapok which is located in Guatemala.
  • Responsible for being compliant with the Syngenta guidelines in financial activities, also timely upload monthly compliance control files.
  • Have close contact to business people and proactively give guidance and advice to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business.
  • Support with ad-hoc requests.

Qualifications

Critical knowledge:

  • Bachelor or University degree in Business Economics or Business Administration.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Excel.
  • Good I.T skills
  • High command of the English language in word and writing.

Critical experience & skills:

  • 3 to 5 years experience in accounting and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills and a curious mind.
  • Pragmatic (hands-on mentality) with the ability to handle high level of work related stress.
  • Ability to set high standards of performance for your own work; you assume responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks.
  • Great communicator and team player.
  • Ability to work independently and are willing to look for different and creative solutions for challenges.
