To support that challenge, Syngenta is currently seeking a HSES (Health, Safety, Environmental & Security) Lead in Omaha, NE.

The HSES Lead will monitor plant procedures and ensure procedures are followed and conform to OSHA, EPA, state and local regulations.

Accountabilities:

  • Conduct incident analysis to improve plant safety and environmental performance, provide a creative work environment for the development and delivery of training programs, and create edge through involvement with resident and non-resident contractors.
  • Assure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state and local regulations by auditing production units, labs and on-site construction activities.
  • Coordinate and deliver training on relevant safety topics.
  • Maintain records relating to HSES training
  • Review incident reports to identify and communicate trends.
  • Write/review/revise Plant Health, Safety, Environmental and Security Procedures
  • Monitor Resident/Non-Resident Contractor safety performance through relationships with contractor representatives.
  • Coordinate/lead Incident Analysis Teams for significant plant incidents and near misses.
  • Lead PRA (Process Risk Assessments) at site.
  • Lead Audits on PSM like processes (MOCs, SOP’s, & Training

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of a 4-year degree, preferably in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, and/or relevant science field.
  • Experience working in an Industrial, Chemical, Agri-Chemical and/or Manufacturing plant environment.
  • Knowledge of Safety, Health, Environmental, and Loss Prevention programs.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of chemical manufacturing work practices (Line Entry, LOTO, CSE, Hot Work, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Industrial Hygiene practices and processes.
  • Knowledge of behavior-based safety
  • ASP, CSP designations are highly preferred
