To support that challenge, the Seeds Production Ops/ Supply Management & Logistics team is currently seeking a Logistics Analyst located in Slater, IA. (Although Slater site is preferred, there may have potential to be based at other appropriate/related Syngenta sites)
Role Purpose
- By managing inventory levels and developing cost-reduction strategies, the Logistics Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring that our products are delivered on time and within budget, thereby maximizing customer satisfaction and supporting the company's financial goals.
- The primary purpose of this role is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Syngenta logistics and distribution processes. The Logistics Analyst is tasked with examining and interpreting logistics data to identify trends, pinpoint inefficiencies, and recommend actionable solutions.
- This role requires a blend of relationship management, analytical prowess, strategic thinking, and practical knowledge of supply chain and logistics operations.
Accountabilities
- Assist in the transfer of supplies to the commercial team and across production facilities to ensure that goods are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time.
- Ensure that timely, accurate payments are made to core carrier base through analysis of logistics expenses and oversight of 3PL freight processes and payments.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with logistics service providers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Identify inefficiencies and challenges within the logistics operations and propose solutions to optimize processes. Develop process enhancements aimed at cost reduction for material transportation, advocating for continuous improvement and efficiency gains.
- Leverage logistics software and systems (SAP, Qlik) to track shipments, manage inventory, and analyze logistics data from various sources, including transportation costs, delivery processes, and inventory levels.
- Oversee the generation and use of purchase orders, monitor and correct data errors, and offer comprehensive trend analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Act as subject matter expert on E2E 3PL shipping process, training distribution teams to remedy input errors and bad data.
- Champion the utilization of RDC’s (Regional Distribution Centers) to aid in increasing efficient use of inventory and improve core carrier truck utilization
- Aid Logistics Operations Lead in review of SOP Documentation to help organization improve in process harmonization and standardization.
Qualifications
Critical Knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of logistics software (SAP, Qlik)
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles, including inventory management, transportation, warehouse management systems (WMS), and distribution processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of Power BI (Preferred)
Critical Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics analysis, distribution operations, or related fields
- 2-3 years of project management experience
- Associates degree preferred
