Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support of annual workplan, Objectives and budget of Agriservice program at country level
  • Support and monitor the projects and activities of the Agriservice program at country level
  • Supervise the execution of agronomic activities
  • Support that CSRA objectives are considered in project execution and be able to measure the impacts
  • To learn how to implement Good Agriculture Technology Evaluation (GATE) in Nigeria
  • To learn how to Facilitate the adoption of supported tools and approaches through scaling organizations, including MAPS (potentially), AEGF/ FarmServ, Soluta Ag/ EHUB, and others
  • Support in execution of Agriservice KPI’s base on the objective of SFSA
  • Supervise the local Agriservice Team in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities
  • Support  Agriservices and local partners on the project strategies
  • Participate in the aggregation and support in analysis of technical data collected in and make proposals that contribute to improving performance.
  • Raise the constraints encountered in the implementation and monitoring of the activities of the projects
  • Perform any other duty assigned to you within your work and skills

Qualifications

Critical knowledge

  •  Degree in Agronomy, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economic and Extension or related
  • Critical knowledge
  •  Degree in Agronomy, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economic and Extension or related
  •  Able to conduct agronomic research
  •  In-depth knowledge of agricultural development issues in the local context
  •  Able to use TIC tools, Office Pack and Statistical Software

Critical experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in rural development, value chain and farmer’s organization support with long experience in the analysis of value chains especially irrigated rice
  • Have good skills in Agricultural value chain and Business Development Service

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities

  • Good experience in financing the rice value chain.
  • Capacity to organize, coordinate and carry out research activities.
  • Good skills in English and major local languages in Nigeria
  • Have good writing, editing, and written and oral communication skills.

Critical leadership capabilities

  • Ability to manage and participate in multiple projects implemented simultaneously
  • Support the implementation of activities by Agriservice Team
  • Support the Agriservices Manager in the planning, implementation and execution of activities

Additional Information

  •  The Agriservice Officer Intern will work under the direct supervision of the Agriservices Manager
  • Employee may, as part of his/her role and maybe through multifunctional teams, participate in the creation and design of innovative solutions. In this context, Employee may contribute to inventions, designs, other work products, including know-how, copyrights, software, innovations, solutions, and other intellectual assets.
