Job Description
As a QA Test Engineer for Crop Protection R&D IT you will use Automated Testing tools and processes to ensure that software products and solutions have automated test packs and scripts in place, so that they can be frequently and easily tested and re-tested to ensure that they are fit for purpose and meet functional and non-functional requirements.
You will be embedded within agile squads working closely with the whole team to deliver value regularly and reliably.
You will be part of a community ensuring continuous improvement of QA practices within Syngenta IT.
Accountabilities:
- Design, develop and execute automation test scripts (Cucumber, Selenium, JavaScript, BDD, Postman).
- Identify, analyze, and report application defects and assist development with resolutions
- Play an active part in the CP R&D IT design Guild
- Sharing learning
- Agreeing guard rails and technology standards
- Be an active member of agile, self organizing, squads
- Advocating agile practices
- Exemplifying a culture of experimentation and learning
- Work closely with R&D IT Platform Leads, R&D IT Domain Leads to ensure continuous improvement of technical platforms
- Proposes portfolio backlog items that will drive increased business value through technology changes
Qualifications
- University Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of some or all of the following: Jira, JUnit, Cucumber, Maven, Selenium, Java, Javascript.
- Fluency in English, additional languages beneficial.
- experience of Automation with Java and Selenium
- Experience in using JUnit, Cucumber & Maven
- Experience of testing web client applications
- Ability to create test scripts scenarios from User stories and able to create bugs and liaise with colleagues to determine priority/severity
- Be familiar with behaviour-driven development
- Knowledge of programming languages like JavaScript and/or Java
