To support that challenge, the Flowers Marketing department is seeking a Regional Head of Marketing, Flowers for the Americas. The Regional Head of Marketing will be accountable for increasing the market share of Syngenta Flowers in the region, driving the proper shape of the product pipeline, and execution of branding and communications activities. You will help shape the future of floriculture by:

  • Leading and managing a multidisciplinary team that consists of product management, technical support, marketing communications, forecast management, CRM, digital marketing, and country access
  • Coordinating with the sales team to produce effective strategies to drive the business and support day-to-day activities
  • Translating the 15 Year Flowers strategy into an optimized regional business strategy

Accountabilities 

  • Monitor trends and development in crops and adjacent markets to provide direction on strategy
  • Manage regional marketing budget, including A&P, trials, digital, events and travel costs
  • Participate in the Global Marketing Leadership Team to define mid to long term marketing a strategy and optimize cooperation between regions
  • Understand and leverage the competitive landscape in key crops in key markets
  • Prioritize branding and communication activities in the region
  • Attend or host regional Monthly Business Review meetings with Head of Finance, Regional Head of Sales, and Flowers Leadership Teams

Qualifications

Requirements

  • MBA or MSc in Horticulture or Plant Science with industry understanding or equivalent business experience
  • 10+ years’ of experience in business exposure to agriculture, horticulture, or marketing
  • Comprehensive understanding of greenhouse production and growing fundamentals
  • Proven Marketing excellence
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business and commercial acumen with the ability to leverage data for decision making, utilizing Crop Evaluation Dashboard

Preferred Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of the entire flowers value chain
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, inspire, and lead multidisciplinary teams and the ability to lead cross-functionally
  • Experience with supporting discussions between product managers, breeders, and technical leads
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insight management that are incorporated in decision making that is customer-centric
  • Proven ability to build working relations by building strong partnerships with internal teams: regions, global teams, operations, finance, and external stakeholders
