Job Description

  • Manage site project portfolio and investment plan
  • Conduct feasibility study for potential investment projects incl. business case development
  • Develop and agree a project charter and lead a detailed scope change management process to be implemented once the project scope is fixed
  • Create a project organization with the competence and experience to deliver such a complex project. Develop a feeling of “1 team, 1 plan” within the project team
  • Staff the project team to provide the right skillset on projects and provide direction and vision to the project team ; contribute to Coaching and development of less experienced people
  • Manage and ensure rigor with the CAPEX investment estimate and delivery of the project within +/-10% of the finally sanctioned value
  • Develop collaboration with key partners, including Regular peer reviews of the project
  • Communicate actively with all involved functions of the organization, incl. reporting on project/schedule/cost and escalation of issues
  • Identify and manage project risks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Chemistry/Engineering/Science
  • Experience in leadership of large investment projects / chemical manufacturing / technology transfers
  • Extensive years experience in chemical / pharmaceutical industry (manufacturing environment), with strong project management experience
  • Good understanding of change management and process risk analysis as well as maintenance.
  • Structured & rigorous approach ensuring effective coordination to ensure safe, reliable, effective & sustainable implementation.
  • Results orientated
  • Ability to function mostly in “helicopter” mode, but yet able to be immersed in detail to resolve time, budget or HSE critical issues competently, quickly and decisively
  • Fluent in both, German and English, French would be a good asset
