Job Description
Job Summary: Synergy Enterprises, Inc., a woman-owned business, is seeking a Managing Principal, IT to provide leadership, governance, operational and financial management for the IT division; manage IT staff across contracts; and contribute to overall strategic direction and growth of the company. Synergy Enterprises, Inc, is located in North Bethesda, Maryland, but this role will be primarily remote working with an entirely remote team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Management
- Analyzes, plans, executes and evaluates division operations, ensuring continuity of operations.
- Periodically reports operational status, achievements, risks and upcoming activity to senior leadership.
- Identifies and resolves operational problems, focusing on meeting internal and external client expectations; proactively manages risk, schedules and cost.
- Owns IT division budget and expenditures, and regularly reports on it to senior staff.
- Manages IT staff across several active federal Agile engagements; promotes Agile practice in the organization and continues developing staff Agile readiness.
- Provides timely conflict de-escalation and resolution to resolve competing priorities and requirements.
- Provides work directives, removes impediments and sets deadlines to ensure completion of division operational functions.
- Evaluates current operational procedures and practices and provides improvement recommendations.
- Participates in initial project planning, sizing and roadmapping for the IT portion of federal contracts.
- Acts as a staff mentor and coach, providing active career management for professional development; develops, recommends, and implements staff training and development programs which provide opportunities for individual employee growth (including long-range growth).
- Captures lessons learned and best practices, documentation and dissemination of information, assisting developing presentations, abstracts, articles, etc.
- Coordinates division activities with interrelated activities of other departments for optimum efficiency and economy; conducts and reports on results of weekly meetings with other Project Managers.
- Formulates, interprets and disseminates SEI policies to workers.
- Provides on-going assistance to non-IT technical staff to ensure optimal program execution.
Corporate Growth
- Participates in business development activities including proposal writing and coordinates timely production of marketing materials.
- Develops and implements annual division strategic plan in alignment with SEI overall strategy.
- Participates in recruitment, onboarding and offboarding staff as needed for project completion.
- Manages the operational division budgets including the monitoring and analysis of expenses versus award allocations and assists in the creation of budgets with Contracts Administrator.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Must have: Agile certification(s), PMI PMP certification, experience with Jira.
- ITIL V4 certification preferred
- 7-10 years work experience in a related federal agency or government contracting environment.
- At least 5 years of hands-on Agile development experience.
- Excellent leadership, management, coordination, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, research methods, and ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
- Capable of short- and long-range planning; problem analysis and resolution; report preparation and presentation; public contact and relations.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and cultivate relationships with high-level officials and clients.
- Prior supervisory experience in directing, evaluating, training, and supervising the work of assigned personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and willingness and ability to be flexible depending on changing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications required.
- Experience with Monday.com or similar preferred.
Other job requirements:
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as contracts or deadlines demand.
- Some travel may be required to meet contract or project specifications.
