Job Description

Your mission:

To reinforce the Synechron Switzerland team, we are seeking for a dedicated DevOps professional with strong Java and Linux skills to enhance our software delivery processes. Your role will involve ensuring the reliability of microservices, making critical technical architecture choices, and overseeing deployments to production. Prior knowledge of end-to-end software development practices, including Agile methodologies, is advantageous. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to collaborate and exchange ideas with our diverse global team of technologists.

Our mission is for one of our clients, a private bank in Geneva.

Your responsibilities:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Promoting code out of our client's software factory to production, with the goal of automating every part of the process but without making any compromises on the quality of the solution delivered;
  • Setting up state-of-the-art analytics and monitoring capabilities, providing both prescriptive and predictive insights;
  • Designing and writing code for infrastructure, quality assurance, configuration, or security components;
  • Diagnosing production issues, performing root-cause analysis, and working with all members of the cross-functional team to propose solutions;
  • Providing continuous guidance to software engineers around operational challenges, such as reliability and manageability, making sure that software implementations are production-proof;
  • Promoting data-driven decision-making and identifying the metrics that matter.

 

Qualifications

Your profile and skills:

  • You justify a Master’s degree in technology or equivalent;
  • You are experienced with Linux and JVM/Java technologies;
  • You possess experience with REST APIs and demonstrate a strong knowledge of networking principles;
  • You have in-depth knowledge of software engineering, including development and maintenance;
  • You have working experience in automation, infrastructure as code (e.g., Puppet), and XaaS;
  • You are experienced with TLS/SSL procedures, certificates, and encryption;
  • You possess a good knowledge of containers and orchestrators (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes);
  • You have working experience with SQL DBs (MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle), or NoSQL (MongoDB, Elasticsearch);
  • You understand and have worked with agile methodologies;
  • You possess the capacity to work independently, and in a team;
  • You speak English proficiently and have conversational level of French;  
  • You have a Swiss Residency or you are willing to relocate.
