Job Description

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform IBM i administration, including system installs, PTF deployment, and HMC maintenance.
  • Perform system firmware, software installation, configuration, and security requirements.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
  • Review system logs, application logs, and verify the successful completion of scheduled jobs, such as backups.
  • Perform problem isolation, definition, resolution, and follow-up for system, application, and customer problems.
  • Provide monthly reporting regarding system performance and assist with capacity planning requirements.
  • Maintain 3rd party software applications and participate in Disaster Recovery testing.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • The ideal candidate is an Expert (P4) Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background (5+ years) in maintaining and administering IBM i (AS/400) environments, including hardware, firmware, and associated software. They should be a dedicated professional who is willing to work in the office in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, and possess excellent problem-solving skills for critical system support.
