JOB SUMMARY:
Defines, implements, and supports the system architecture for the selected Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and any ancillary tools and applications such as report distribution, process schedulers, databases and interfaced (bolt-on) applications.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyzes highly complex ERP project requirements to determine impact and/or change to the ERP system architecture. Evaluates the need for architecture changes and conducts appropriate cost/benefit analyses. Contributes to technical designs for ERP projects, as required. Works with senior management to secure approval for ERP system architecture and/or related components that do not adhere to corporate technology standards. Ensures the successful implementation of ERP system architecture changes and monitors changes for increased system efficiency. Works with ERP Systems Analysts to address application performance issues.
• Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.
• Demonstrates an understanding of not only FIS ERP system architecture and implementations, but also ERP system architecture industry standards and best practices.
• Develops, documents, and executes thorough technical test plans and protocols to ensure that ERP architectural changes are working properly. Provides risk identification role. Conducts testing that may include the use of batch scripts, online processes, databases, or interface files.
• Installs changes or enhancements made to the ERP system architecture. Ensures that migrated changes are properly implemented and available. Responsible for the execution of upgrade scripts and processes, both at the ERP system/infrastructure and ERP application level. Develops and maintains ERP system-level backup and recovery strategies. Creates and maintains technical documentation related to ERP system topography.
• Provides information to educate the customer and monitors customer’s satisfaction. Effectively handles demanding or upset customers. Understands the customers underlying issues and concerns beyond the given. Looks for ways to provide unexpected value to the customer’s situation.
• Proactively determines and resolves potential issues.
• Determines, describes and documents the most effective technical approach to define and resolve identified problems. Maintains ERP system architecture diagrams, including all related components.
• Develops and recommends new processes, tools, and technology that improves the ERP system and/or its architecture.
• Handles multiple, highly complex projects from inception to completion.
• Conducts analysis, design and evaluation of ERP architecture capabilities across multiple areas.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer/Management Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Experience in ERP system customization using recognized best practices is required
• Proven success in ERP implementations, upgrades, maintenance and/or support is required
• Knowledge of business process flows in an ERP system is required
• Experience in full life cycle development with an emphasis on incremental, iterative development and deployment is required
• Advanced knowledge of ERP system configuration and security is required
• Advanced knowledge of system development tools and languages is required
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and negotiation skills. Reviews, edits and offers suggestions to others on appropriate oral and written communication
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Proven project management skills and ability to manage time effectively
• Strong customer service and leadership skills required
