Job Description

Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, the Designer, Mechanical will be responsible for the creation, layout, modification and improvements of robotic equipment used in different sectors. More precisely, he/she will:


  • Create and design 3D machinery, assemblies and sub-assemblies;
  • Assist project managers or other designers as required;
  • Provide technical support to the production of projects for which she/he is responsible;
  • Develop and modify tools and equipment devices of robotic cells;
  • Visit customers to retrieve data;
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for equipment or special components;
  • Search for products and components, contact suppliers;
  • Assist in the commissioning of equipment and participate in fabrication & assembly tasks;
  • Participate in the elaboration of maintenance & operations manuals;
  • Perform all other related tasks.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other equivalent experience;
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (Professional Engineering license of Quebec) an asset;
  • Minimum five (5) to eight (8) years of experience as a designer;
  • Minimum three (3) year experience in machinery automation and fabrication;
  • Pertinent experience in the robotics industry is an asset;
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Work, Outlook);
  • Excellent knowledge of SolidWorks. AutoCAD, other CAD software and FEA are assets.
  • Bilingualism, spoken & written (French and English).
  • Availability to travel outside of the metropolitan area and abroad;
  • Ability to resolve and analyze problems;
  • Leadership and customer centered approach;
  • Team player skills, with discipline and concerned for quality;
  • Flexibility to work under pressure and in an environment where priorities change.
