Job Description

Symbotic is seeking a results-driven, innovative HR Business Partner interested in helping shape our future growth. The HR Business Partner is responsible for aligning business objectives with employee and management designated business units.  The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.  The HR Business Partner maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s financial position, its strategic plans and its culture.  You will work with members of the HR team to implement HR strategies, policies and programs that support the business’ growth plans. This includes managing employee relations, coaching managers and employees, and assisting in the development of internal processes and policies, as well as designing and delivering management training. To be successful you will need to demonstrate the ability to influence and provide recommendations in areas such as performance management, employee relations, compensation and career development.


  • Partners with business leaders in understanding strategic goals and helping them put plans in place that will help them be successful
  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business units.
  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Abilty to travel up to 25% domestically


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field. Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a strategic HR role supporting multiple leaders
  • Strong business consulting and HR acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and initiative and the ability to influence and partner with all levels of the organization to drive impact
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and management of employee relations issues
  • Previous experience with multi-state employment laws (Canada a plus)
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional partners and work effectively in a highly matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, with a keen focus on delivering business results
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
