We are searching for a Windows Systems Engineer who has extensive knowledge of Windows environments, deployed in a highly available multi-customer environment.
The Windows Engineer works within the Product IT department which provides the IT infrastructure for Symbotic's warehouse automation systems and applications.
Participate in creating the design for new installations to support high availability objectives.
Support installation and commissioning teams.
Helps to implement and administer the IT systems used for performance and security monitoring at our customer sites.
Monitors ongoing systems performance, anticipates problems before they occur and proposes solutions.
Solves problems relating to mission critical services to prevent problem recurrence, with the goal of automating response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
Play an active role in testing and innovating new solutions as we evolve our part of the product offering.
Documents IT procedures
Experience with TCP/IP based networks, protocols and troubleshooting
Experience with HP Servers, Cisco UCS,
Experience and knowledge of Automation tools: WDS, SCCM, Ansible
Extensive knowledge and experience with VMware 5.x, 6.x and 7x
Experience with HP 3Par, EMC VNX and Pure storage and deep understanding of NFS, iSCSI and Fiber channel for Storage arrays.
Experience using PowerShell scripting in everyday operation
Knowledge and experience with Windows 2008, 2012, 2012R2, 2016 and 2019 servers
Experience with Active Directory 2012 and 2016
Experience with Linux deployment – ubuntu, RHEL etc
Experience in O365, Azure and AWS
Experience designing multi-tenant Datacenters mapped across multiple sites.
Knowledge of Kubernetes deployment is a plus.
Strong knowledge of system update management
Able to communicate verbally or in writing with in a professional and friendly manner
Willing to provide Tier 3 on-call support coverage for customers.
Ability to write and/or execute detailed test plans
Able to demonstrate debugging skills for systems problems.
Experience conveying technical information to non-technical people
Proficient in scripting of commonly performed tasks
Independent and self-directed, ability to multitask and manage priorities
Excellent communicator and listener
Comfort with working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
