Job Description

As Senior Software Engineer on a 6 month fixed term contract you will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and supporting our next-generation platforms. This hands-on, full-stack role involves developing new features that meet our business needs for our customers. You will build with best practices and resiliency in mind, adhere to agile processes, and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders.

Impact you will make in this role: You will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting our new microservice-based rating platform. This platform initially prices product usage across our global voice network (Australia, NZ, and Singapore).

Qualifications

  • Degree: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience: 5-7 years in software engineering
  • Preferred Skills: Strong experience with Golang microservices is preferred, but strong Java experience will also be considered
  • Exposure: Experience with large-scale distributed systems
  • Knowledge: Understanding of high-throughput microservice-based architectures
  • Cloud Expertise: Proficient with AWS or other cloud technologies, with an awareness of the cost implications of cloud tech choices
  • Automation: Consistently automate manual processes to enhance efficiency
  • Ownership: Demonstrate a sense of ownership in technical projects and continuously improve engineering practices
  • Self-Learning: Dedicated to continual self-learning and technical skill improvement
  • Attributes: Curious, tenacious, creative, and an excellent team player
  • Bonus Skills: Experience with ReactJS and/or GraphQL
