You will be responsible for delivering and maintaining infrastructure systems for a number of Symbio business segments as well as uplifting our existing core tech stack. You will focus on driving infrastructure automation and ensure our deployments are resilient and repeatable across development and production environments. You will focus on driving on-prem and cloud (AWS) based initiatives within your team that enable modern engineering practices for the entire technology department. You will work collaboratively with Delivery, Software and Network teams in delivering systems and services as well as ensuring we understand the health of our systems at any point in time to reduce outages.

What you’ll do as a Systems Engineer:

You will be responsible for solutioning, implementing and supporting infrastructure projects both on-prem and in the cloud to enable Systems Engineering and a number of Symbio business segments to deliver services effectively. Help us modernize our tech stack by advocating fit for purpose solutions and enhance the way we work by ensuring our systems are healthy and resilient.

After hours support

There is an expectation that this role is part of the teams after hours support roster (level 3), which is rotated weekly for production critical platforms. We also understand that we as a team need to do everything we can to ensure resilient and self healing platforms and engineering leadership will provide the time to make sure we do.

What you'll need to succeed:

• 2 – 3 years’ experience in on-premise systems management including installing, configuring and maintaining bare metal and virtualization on vmware
• Understanding in Linux (Redhat/Centos) and/or Windows systems administration/deployment including automation, performance tuning and resource allocation (CPU/Memory/Disk)
• Some exposure in CI/CD & GitLab
• The ability to automate manual processes to drive efficiency and have working experience in tools such as Puppet, Ansible, etc.
• Scripting experience using Bash
• Understanding of networking architecture and internet protocols
• Are curious, motivated, self-learner but are also great team players
• Computer Science / Engineering related degree, or equivalent extensive relevant experience
