Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Lead to join the team in Sydney.  This role requires the design, development and maintenance of both new and existing components/features across the product tech stack. You will be responsible for the definition and implementation of our Number Management and Network Routing platforms that manage and enables the effective routing of calls within our network from inception to production deployment, including health monitoring and production support. Your role will involve utilising engineering best practices, adhering to agile processes and constant collaboration with team members and technology stakeholders. We value critical problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.

This is a full-stack, hands-on role within a remotely distributed team reporting to a Lead Software Engineer where you would be responsible for the delivery of enhancements and new features on the Global Number Management platform utilising an agile delivery framework as well as providing strategic and technical guidance to the rest of the engineering team on both design and implementation.

What you'll do as a Tech Lead:

  • Design and/or review the high-level solution for each feature developed by the team.;
  • Provide guidance and ownership on production health monitoring and incident support;
  • Collaborate in an agile environment where teams own their entire technology stack end-to-end;
  • Provide guidance on the delivery of features where quality assurance is realised via automated testing paradigms;
  • Provide direction and ownership on the future technology roadmap of the product and paradigms that enable highly effective self-driven teams.

Qualifications

What you'll need to succeed:

  • A person who is self-driven with sharp analytical abilities, excellent troubleshooting skills who can solve problems and take them from initiation to delivery in production with minimal disruption;
  • A person with the motivation to assume ownership of the delivery of the goal development goal of a sprint end-to-end, inclusive of quality assurance;
  • A deep understanding of software development using  Java 8 or higher with 8+ years of professional experience.
  • The ability to diagram and articulate complex problems and solutions to both technical and non-technical team members;
  • Prior work experience in guiding the building and bootstrapping of new systems with a CI/CD first mind set where testing is automated and not a barrier for delivery;
  • Prior work experience in the design and implementation of multi-tenanted international platforms. 
  • Prior work experience with automated testing frameworks including Test Driven methodologies with a strong focus on "Testing to the left";
  • Practical understanding of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud enabled services (AWS, EC2, EBS, S3, etc)
  • Experience in delivering microservice centric solutions is not required but highly valued.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
