Job Description

As cXc Project & Partner Manager you will oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of climate-related news projects. This role  requires strong partner management skills, including excellent interpersonal communication and radical collaboration to build diverse global partners.

This role is part of the climateXchange (cXc) team, a Syli flagship programme. It’s an exciting opportunity to work with local and global newsrooms to make a cultural climate difference. We believe in delivering the best experience for partners and members so the focus for our Project & Partner Manager is to develop, manage, and nurture projects and relationships to drive growth. Ensuring effective implementation of cXc programmes involves initiating and managing activities in multiple regions while  supporting partners and members with resources and in some cases financial grants  to encourage high engagement and participation. 

The position is for an immediate start and is a remote role with some in-person meetings in London (at least one per month).  This position is offered as a full time staff position in the UK (candidates must already have the right to work in the UK).

You will need to ensure you have access to a suitable professional and confidential environment with a reliable internet connection to carry out your duties.

Travel is part of this role, so you must be willing to travel globally to manage climateXchange events.

The position is full time over Monday to Friday and is a 12 month fixed term contract. However, pending securing the required funding, there will likely be the opportunity to extend the contract after the first term.

The pay for this role is £40,000 per year.

Responsibilities

Build and Manage Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our current and potential partners and members across South East Asia, West Asia North Africa (WANA), Europe, Africa, Latin America.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for partners and members by understanding their business development needs.

Design and Execute Partner and Member Events

  • Ensure the necessary cXc resources, training, and information are provided for successful programmes and events.
  • Organise, plan and resource regional workshops, meetings, webinars and communications to keep stakeholders informed and involved.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and ensure their needs are met throughout the project.

Project Execution & Monitoring:

  • Facilitate  the execution of cXc regional projects ensuring adherence to project plans.
  • Monitor and report on cXc project progress, adjusting plans as necessary to meet changing circumstances.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment with cXc goals.
  • Oversee project documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.

Budget Management:

  • Manage cXc project, grant and event budgets, ensuring resources are used efficiently and effectively.
  • Track project expenses against budget and provide regular financial reports to senior management.
  • Track and ensure grant applications comply with cXc requirements.
  • Seek additional funding opportunities or grants to support project initiatives.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure that all cXc projects comply with relevant internal screening, environmental regulations and organisational policies.
  • Prepare detailed reports on project outcomes, challenges, and recommendations for future initiatives.

Qualifications

We have identified the range of qualifications, knowledge, and experience we think you’ll need for this role and at least 3-5 years experience in a partner management, client experience, or related role is essential. Experience working with editorial partners is highly desirable.

  • Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders to establish and nurture beneficial partner and member relationships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven experience collaborating with multiple regions. 
  • Excellence in event planning and coordination.
  • Can successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficient in using project management and CRM software effectively.
  • Capable user of Google’s Workspace business apps and collaboration tools in a professional capacity.
  • Able to use digital marketing and social media platforms. 
  • Passionate about working in a role with a mission to improve climate reporting and sustainability.

The Process
