About the Team

The Aviation Growth Team is at the forefront of revenue creation for the Airport. The Aviation Growth Team leads the strategic and aviation commercial development to meet future passenger demand and grow the airport as a sustainable business. It works with internal and external partners and stakeholders to develop new airline business to encourage additional traffic through aviation development and key account management.

It manages the delivery of airline growth incentives and is responsible for developing key programs to facilitate development and the achievement of Sydney Airport’s strategic growth objectives (e.g. commercial aero incentives and international passenger development strategy).

About the Role

The Aviation Analytics and Insights Analyst will transform data into actionable insights for our Aviation teams. Support growth, demand, and market share with your analytics expertise. Provide high-quality insights for internal needs, Shareholders, and the Board, shaping strategic planning and performance.

• Lead the analysis of aviation data to generate business insights and opportunities & conduct strategic market research to identify trends, passenger demographics, and new routes, supporting Sydney Airport's aviation growth.
• Support Aviation Partnerships by prioritising and analysing growth targets based on market size, passenger trends, and airline strategies & identify target airlines for emerging opportunities
• Contribute to SYD's 2050 traffic growth strategy by tracking unserved and underserved markets, provide periodic macro analysis reports and track Bilateral Air Rights for seat availability. Support WSI preparation with catchment analysis and route insights. Help select aviation data suppliers to enhance insights and efficiency.
• Create compelling business cases for airlines with route forecasts and SYD's unique selling points. Analyse market dynamics and support Aero marketing with spend effectiveness and demand activation.
• Collaborate on monthly airline and passenger performance report, provide detailed passenger forecasts, support 2050 project planning and assist other teams with passenger trend and airline analysis for various reports and presentations.

About You

• Proven experience of three or more years in an analytics or market research role & experience in relationship management and/or sales experience
• Sound knowledge of airport and airline business models is preferred
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders and negotiating outcomes
• Excellent data analysis and visualisation skills & possess an analytical and data driven mindset with strong attention to detail
• Experience in conducting market analysis and developing new business capture strategies for international markets
• Strong computer literacy skills, advanced Microsoft suite 
• Strong presentation preparation skills
