Job Description

About the role. 

Reporting to the Lead Development Manager, you will have project accountability for leading a team of internal team members and stakeholders in identifying, creating and delivering a range of projects. 

The Development Manager is a strategic, and collaborative leader, responsible for the full project lifecycle with a particular focus on the early project phases (pre-construction). You will have accountability for leading a team of stakeholders in identifying, creating, and delivering a major project/ a range of projects and reporting to senior management.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to

  • Identify problem and/or opportunity statements to define project requirements and objectives, benefits, and measures of success for the development.
  • Coordinate stakeholder outputs into a project brief and set of requirements, prepare and manage business cases, obtain internal approvals, and prepare funding requirements to progress opportunities.
  • Manage risk and opportunity through identification, development, and implementation of mitigation strategies for each project.
  • Project cost planning, supervision, and management of budgets, claims, and payments, as well as managing internal and external project reporting processes.
  • Present to senior executives, manage stakeholder approval processes, prepare and manage procurement of high-value packages, and ensure workstream alignment within the project team.
  • Oversee WHS management processes, sustainability targets, and environmental requirements for the development, as well as quality control and handover management.

About You

  • Development Management (client side) experience throughout project lifecycle of commercial assets as well as 5+years demonstrated experience in construction, development projects or project management 
  • Design management and/or master planning experience desirable
  • A degree in Property Economics, Engineering or Construction is required & qualification in Project Management
  • Business case writing and obtaining senior executive approvals
  • Preparation and management of procurement of high-value packages
  • Management of programmes, capex, and budgets
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and commercial acumen
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage teams and work cross-functionally to achieve deadlines and objectives
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive management, initiative, and self-driven
