Job Description
We are looking for a talented Public Relations professional who has the ability and desire to craft compelling copy, connect with the media and communicate through appropriate channels. The Public Relations Counsel advises clients on strategic public relations issues and plans, manages and implements public relations programs including media relations, events, and social media. This person must have the motivation and desire to learn all about clients, their industries and their audiences. They will generate top-quality public relations materials – press releases, white papers, articles, talking points and more – and they will also represent clients/agency at industry functions. The right person will be very organized with energy and enthusiasm to burn and a make-it-happen mindset. Relationship-building skills are important to work with fellow account team members as well as clients and target audiences. The ideal candidate also will be able to adapt their PR skills to different industries when necessary.
Qualifications
Writing skills are crucial to effectively communicate information presented in content-driven communications, press releases, feature articles, speeches, newsletters and miscellaneous correspondence. Must have the ability to think strategically when developing public relations plans. Experience with influencer communications and the growing use of AI would be advantageous. A four-year degree in journalism, public relations or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred; an additional 4 years of experience in a related field may be substituted in lieu of degree.
