Translate detail from a patient's medical documents, such as physician's notes, lab reports, procedures, and diagnoses into universal medical codes to maintain accurate medical records. 
Healthcare providers and insurance companies use these standardized codes for billing and record-keeping. Current ICD 10
Responsible for assigning appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes to inpatient and/or outpatient hospital services, along with services rendered in skilled nursing facilities, free standing clinics and other places of service by providers
Make sure that codes are assigned correctly · Complying with medical coding guidelines and policies.
Should be compliant with HIPAA regulations.
