We’re looking for a Senior UX/Design Researcher to join Sutherland Labs for a role that will focus on our financial services and technology practice. This role will also help shape and execute exciting updates to our remote and in-person research models as we expand in 2023. While focused on consumer and enterprise finance and banking, we offer opportunities to engage across the breadth of our international, multi-discliplinary practice. This role is fully remote and normal working hours will be Eastern Time. A flexible 4-day week model may be a possibility in some circumstances.

• 5+ years of UX/Design research experience within a commercial environment (in-house and/or agency).
• Successfully led user experience projects as the sole researcher or on a team of researchers
• The ability to determine the best research methods for different client challenges
• Analytical skills and the ability to communicate insights gleaned from generative and evaluative research data 
• Strong understanding and demonstration of human-centered design principles
• Comfort working in a fast paced agency environment with the ability to prioritize project needs
• Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
• Ability to embrace the unknown and inspire new ways of thinking
• Bonus for:
  • Experience with visual/graphic design 
  • Experience with accessibility research 
  • Experience with service design and/or journey mapping
  • While we are a qualitative-centric agency, experience with mixed methods is a bonus

Sure, we need someone with strong research skills and a smart work ethic, but maybe you achieved that skillset in a different sort of setting.
