Sundance is looking for a Freelance Creative Services Assistant to support our Home category in Salt Lake City, UT. Sundance is a leading omni-channel specialty retailer with headquarters located in Salt Lake City, UT. Founded in 1969 by Robert Redford, Sundance is a unique brand that supports artistic endeavors and focuses on creativity, originality, and inspiration.

As the Freelance Creative Services Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Creative Services department on a day-to-day basis. This consists of, but is not limited to, gathering and packing samples for all projects, both in-house and out, getting packages ready for shipment to vendors or elsewhere, and organizing our studios. This is a highly physically demanding position; you will be required to move very heavy samples. It is critical this person is proactive, can work on multiple projects at one time, and can keep everything in the studio organized. You must be able to drive commercial trucks on company property or on public highways. Managing all catalog product samples, props, supplies and studio equipment required for all catalog and internet production.

Essential Functions

  • Pack and unpack trucks for location photography shoots
  • Keep photo studio and color room clean and organized
  • Keep inventory organized in collaboration with sample room
  • Attend Home walkthrough
  • Take notes from Home stylists on props needed
  • Organize and pack truck for location shoot
  • Supervise photo assistant(s) while packing and on location
  • Liaison with home owner/property manager on location
  • Distribute per diem
  • Oversee catering and organizing meals
  • Pick up and return rental truck
  • Organize pick up of team if needed at airport
  • Assist location team as needed
  • Keep offsite prop area clean and organized
  • Keep prop area in studio organized
  • Organize product for color shows
  • Place Home product in warehouse for ease of viewing for color shows
  • Prepare studio shoots
  • Prepare internet products, hard goods, and fashion for location/studio photography
  • Paint backgrounds and props as needed with direction from stylists
  • Proactively participate and collaborate to meet Sundance’s business goals

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • Deadline driven
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organized, collaborative, and detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift heavy furniture, boxes, equipment, and samples up to 100lbs
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Must possess or be able to complete requirements for Commercial Driver’s License
  • Must be able to drive a commercial truck to multiple locations

Independent Contractor Agreement required.
