Job Description

The Database Developer is primarily responsible to ensure the stability of the data warehouse, consistent processing of all data transfers across systems and that reporting is refreshed on a consistent and continual basis. This position also defines and develops new tables, processes, and packages to transfer data across our local network as well as satisfies external needs for data. They ensure security and stability of all data repositories and transfers for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Define and develop ETL scripts (Extract, Transform, Load) using SQL.
  • Create, maintain and update tables, stored procedures and SSIS packages
  • Create, maintain and enhance SSAS cubes.
  • Work with Data Analysts to create and maintain new database tables.
  • Assist Data Analysts and contractors with optimizing SQL code.
  • Support production data loads and ongoing refreshes of the data warehouse systems.
  • Troubleshooting errors and fixing all bugs, as required.
  • Participate in building innovative data visualizations and reports.
  • Work with business teams, gather and understand business requirements and create technical specifications.
  • Work independently for most of the database duties and works well with the entire IT team to support the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master's degree a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  •  Strong analytical skills and precision with data
  • Knowledge and experience with the following:
  • Data warehouse systems
  • ETL
  •  Database performance tuning
  • Automation and scripting
