It is a local non-governmental organization in Myanmar and is established in particular to advance socially beneficial purposes in Myanmar by promoting and providing information, services and products related to the prevention, promotion, curation and rehabilitation of the major health services including but not limited to HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, reproductive health and non-communicable diseases with the aim of furthering good health, prosperity and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness. This also includes state-of-art training programs, quality assurance programs, and a robust supply chain and logistics system and health financing mechanisms. JOB SUMMARY:
The Junior Private Sector Engagement Officer is an office-based position responsible for coordinating and supporting Sun Community Health’s project implementation with engaged private entities. The role focuses on facilitating effective communication between private entities and the Program Management Office, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, monitoring program-related supplies and inventories where applicable, and providing logistical and operational support for project activities. The position strengthens coordination with private entities and supports the Private Sector Engagement Officer in ensuring smooth and timely implementation of program activities and service delivery.
Job Description
The duties and responsibilities of the Jr. Private Sector Engagement Officer include:
· Act as the contact between engaged private entities, and the Private Sector Engagement team.
· Coordinate day-to-day program activities with engaged private entities and ensure timely follow-up on agreed action points, schedules, and activity plans.
· Conduct regular monitoring and supportive visits and tele-monitoring activities to engage private entities to provide operational support and maintain continuous engagement.
· Collect monthly service delivery data, activity reports, monitoring forms, and other program-related documents from engaged private entities and ensure timely submission to the Private Sector Engagement Officer/MIS Team.
· Review submitted reports and data for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and correctness before submission to the Private Sector Engagement Officer/MIS Team and follow up with entities to address identified discrepancies.
· Maintain and update appropriate records, tracking tools, and filing systems for engaged private entities to support program monitoring, reporting, and audit requirements.
· Monitor program-related products, forms, IEC materials, promotional items, and other general supplies at engaged private entities and coordinate replenishment as required.
· Monitor supplied stocks at relevant private entities, where applicable, and coordinate with the office for acquisition based on program requirements.
· Collect and review supply usage information from relevant private entities and report stock shortages, overstock, or other stock management issues to the Private Sector Engagement Officer/Seniors.
· Provide basic operational and program-related guidance to engage private entities in line with approved program guidelines, SOPs, tools, and reporting requirements.
· Coordinate with engaged private entities for training, review meetings, workshops, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programs, and other program activities as required.
· Support the organization and implementation of capacity-building activities, review meetings, advocacy activities, and other private sector engagement activities as assigned.
· Support the Private Sector Engagement Officer in identifying, communicating with, and following up on potential private entities for expansion, advocacy, area mapping, and engagement activities.
· Assist in addressing operational issues raised by engaged private entities and escalate technical, programmatic, or other issues requiring further action to the Private Sector Engagement Officer/Seniors in a timely manner.
· Maintain good working relationships with private providers and relevant stakeholders to facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and service delivery.
· Coordinate with relevant program, M&E, logistics, finance, and administrative teams to support smooth implementation of activities and timely resolution of operational requirements.
· Submit timely, accurate, and complete reports and administrative documents, including activity reports, timesheets, leave submissions, field visit records, and other documents as required by the supervisor.
· Perform other relevant tasks assigned by the direct supervisor in support of effective private sector engagement and program implementation.
Required Skills and Competencies
The key skills required for the position of Junior Private Sector Engagement Officer include:
• Coordination Skills: Able to effectively coordinate between clinics, township health departments, implementing partners, and communities.
• Organizational Skills: Able to manage multiple tasks such as data collection, reporting, and logistics at the same time.
• Communication: Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact with local health staff, community stakeholders, and central office colleagues.
• Problem-Solving: Able to identify basic operational challenges in the field and propose practical solutions.
• Adaptability: Willing to work in field-based settings, including rural/remote areas, with flexibility in duties and schedules.
• Teamwork: Works well as part of a team, supporting senior staff and collaborating with peers and local partners.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree holder (any discipline) — preference given to graduates with a Bachelor of Community Health, bachelor’s in public health, or other health-related fields.
• 1–2 years of experience in community project support, health programs, or data/report management (internship or volunteer experience acceptable).
• Basic knowledge of inventory and logistics management is an advantage.
• Experience working with private sector providers, or community-based projects is preferred.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, email).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to field sites across assigned townships, including rural/remote areas.
