Sun Community Health (“SCH”) is a non-profit, non-political and non-sectarian organization. It is a local non-governmental organization in Myanmar and is established in particular to advance socially beneficial purposes in Myanmar by promoting and providing information, services and products related to the prevention, promotion, curation and rehabilitation of the major health services including but not limited to HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, reproductive health and non-communicable diseases with the aim of furthering good health, prosperity and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness. This also includes state-of-art training programs, quality assurance programs, and a robust supply chain and logistics system and health financing mechanisms. The Organization may also provide non-health related ancillary services that ensure and improve the well-being of its clientele.

The contract type is Dedicated Project Based and the duration is up to December 2026 and extendable. The required position is 1 and the assigned areas are SunCare Yangon.

Job Summary:

Lab Technician plays a role in giving diagnosis services to walk-in clients of center (or) referred from ART and TB providers for HIV and/or TB diagnosis as well as other clinical laboratory tests. He/she will also responsible for ensuring the quality lab services and follow the protocols and procedures. He/she will become the resource person to deal with donors and National sites for reporting, quality assurances and participate in training to our providers.

The duties and responsibilities of Lab Technician Officer include;

• Advocacy to authorized persons from NAP, NTP related with Laboratory as necessary

• Participate actively in lab related training activities

• Ensuring good services are provided to walk-in clients or referred from providers/staffs

• Fill and complete laboratory forms accurately

• Collect and report the laboratory data as requested

• Maintain records of the laboratory tests and results in proper order

• Always keep lab room, equipment and surrounding in hygienic condition

• Stand-in for fellow lab technician in his/her absence

• Liaise with MIS unit, keep and record lab data correctly and timely

• Liaise with Quality Assurance unit for quality testing procedure of affiliated lab technicians

• Act as the focal person to handling the reagent/slides/ and laboratory consumables to be procured

• Undertake relevant duties assigned by supervisor

• Any Graduate; Prefer trained lab technician
• Prefer who has experience in TB lab (able to do sputum microscopy and operate Gene X pert machine) and other clinical laboratory services
• Prefer who has experiences on HIV Counselling or ART service
