It is a local non-governmental organization in Myanmar and is established in particular to advance socially beneficial purposes in Myanmar by promoting and providing information, services and products related to the prevention, promotion, curation and rehabilitation of the major health services including but not limited to HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, reproductive health and non-communicable diseases with the aim of furthering good health, prosperity and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness. JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for performing the day-to-day finance and accounting functions of the assigned office, as well as assisting with the timely preparation of high-quality financial reports. In this role, he/she will also be responsible for project coding to ensure every financial document is precisely classified, coded, and mapped to the correct project code, cost center, and account line. He/she will work closely with the Grant and Program teams to ensure flawless financial tracking and budget compliance across all active projects.
Job Description
The duties and responsibilities of Assistant Accountant include:
1. Assist to Finance Manager in planning and development of finance systems;
2. Coordinate with other departments relating with finance, accounting and project code matters;
3. Perform day to day finance and accounting work effectively, efficiently with good service quality;
4. Coordinate with the Grants Team to clarify project codes, and funding allocations to ensure the accurate recording of integrated projects related transactions.
5. Review supporting documents to verify the accuracy of project coding and compliance with donor and organizational requirements before recording them in the financial system.
6. Coordinate with the Grants Team by providing financial information to support monthly spending rate analysis, budget monitoring.
7. Perform Quick book Data entry, preparation and analysis;
8. Conduct budget vs. actual analysis and provide variance interpretation for donor-funded projects.
9. Assist Finance Officer to check the project code with daily attendance and salary payments;
10. Check and verify expenses from Operations and Administration units of Office;
11. Check contractual/Bid obligations between SCH and leasers, vendors, suppliers and service providers;
12. Check, verify and perform sales revenue receipt and filing all original sales invoice;
13. Assist monthly Finance Report preparation compliance with budget allocation and report to SCH NHQ;
14. Assist Finance Officer to monitor, evaluate, analyze financial report on issues of the Office;
15. Assist to Finance Officer to reconcile program income with inventory report and MIS report;
16. Assist to perform all banking transaction and reconcile bank statement with QB data;
17. Assist to report to HQ for cash balances at the end of calendar month and SCH’s month.
18. Undertake any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Key Skills and competencies
The key skills required for the position of Assistant Accountant include:
Technical Knowledge: Understanding on basic accounting concept and using finance software.
Operational Management: Be able to manage timely report, apply professional manner of accounting and multitask management.
Communication Skills: Must be communicate well with all staff and external partners.
Team Spirit: Must be good team player.
Qualifications
- Any graduate with LCCI (Level – 3 )/ACCA/ B. Com
- At least two-year experience of related field
