Sun Community Health (“SCH”) is a non-profit, non-political and non-sectarian organization. It is a local non-governmental organization in Myanmar and is established in particular to advance socially beneficial purposes in Myanmar by promoting and providing information, services and products related to the prevention, promotion, curation and rehabilitation of the major health services including but not limited to HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, reproductive health and non-communicable diseases with the aim of furthering good health, prosperity and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness. This also includes state-of-art training programs, quality assurance programs, and a robust supply chain and logistics system and health financing mechanisms. The Organization may also provide non-health related ancillary services that ensure and improve the well-being of its clientele.

OVERVIEW:
Counselor (TB) is one of the team members in TB team activities and is primarily responsible to conduct HE sessions, counselling services for TB, HIV diagnosis and treatment. Moreover, he/ she is a key person for coordination among medical teams, service providers, referral centres and community health workers. The position is target-driven and ultimately responsible for achieving the acceleration of case screenings in urban TB control.
The contract type is Service Agreement and The required position is one and the assigned area is Yangon.
Job Description
- Conduct health education sessions.
- Take main responsibility for provision of counselling services for TB diagnosis, TB treatment, adherence, TPT and HIV counselling to confirmed TB patients.
- Thoroughly explain to the clients about the necessary procedures to complete TB diagnosis.
- Ensure the presumptive TB clients to link with treatment centres.
- Provide pre-treatment counselling to aid in treatment adherence.
- Coordinate with community providers for sputum collection and contact tracing.
- Assist Medical Doctor (Team Leader) for reporting and recording.
- Attend coordination meetings together with Medial doctor if necessary.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Nurse or Nurse Aid
- Preferably relevant work experiences for 2 years
- Must be based in Yangon
- Competent in computer skill (Microsoft excel, Microsoft office, Microsoft power-point, etc)
- Must have good communication skill and advocacy skill
- Should be organized, systematic, dynamic and must interact well with others
