Sun Community Health (“SCH”) is a non-profit, non-political and non-sectarian organization. It is a local non-governmental organization in Myanmar and is established in particular to advance socially beneficial purposes in Myanmar by promoting and providing information, services and products related to the prevention, promotion, curation and rehabilitation of the major health services including but not limited to HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, reproductive health and non-communicable diseases with the aim of furthering good health, prosperity and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness. This also includes state-of-art training programs, quality assurance programs, and a robust supply chain and logistics system and health financing mechanisms. The Organization may also provide non-health related ancillary services that ensure and improve the well-being of its clientele.

JOB SUMMARY:

Sun Community Health ("SCH") is a non-profit, non-political and non-sectarian organization. It is a national nongovernmental organization in Myanmar. SCH envisions a future for Myanmar that is covered with a universal healthcare, and one where all Myanmar families have the power, opportunity, and ability to access the healthcare when they need without financial hardship. SCH network consists of over 900 Sun GPs, 3,000 community volunteers and 2,000 pharmacies. SCH is accountable to the community and its stakeholders for ensuring that services delivered by SCH–affiliated providers are consistent with quality standards that are widely regarded in the medical community as being essential to quality of care. The Quality Improvement Consultant is a field-based position with the primary role of evaluating the quality of care delivered by healthcare providers, facilities and partners (across all relevant health areas) to ensure service delivery standards are met. It involves conduction of quality assessment to all assigned territories and facilities, developing Quality Improvement Plan with assessment findings and recommendations, providing feedbacks to respective facilities, organizing trainings as necessary and preparing reports. He/she is being responsible for all healthcare quality related activities including investigations into adverse events, reporting and taking necessary actions as required to ensure patient safety and best outcomes under the guidance of Healthcare Quality Manager.

Job Description

The duties and responsibilities of Quality Improvement Consultant include:

• Develop, revise and maintain standardized quality assessment tools, checklists and supportive supervision instruments in line with Myanmar National Tuberculosis Program guidelines, policies and current practices.

• Plan and conduct regular quality assessment visits to healthcare providers and project sites across different states and regions to assess the quality and effectiveness of TB service delivery.

• Assess healthcare providers' adherence to NTP guidelines and standard operating procedures covering TB prevention, diagnosis, treatment, contact investigation, follow-up mechanisms, recording, reporting and infection prevention and control measures.

• Identify gaps, non-compliance and areas for improvement and provide evidence-based recommendations to strengthen the quality of TB service delivery.

• Develop corrective action plans in collaboration with healthcare providers and relevant teams and monitor the implementation of agreed actions to ensure continuous quality improvement.

• Collect, analyze and interpret quality assessment findings and performance indicators to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for strengthening program implementation.

• Prepare comprehensive quality assessment reports and debrief sessions, and provide timely feedback to management and relevant stakeholders, highlighting key findings, recommendations and areas requiring corrective actions.

Qualifications

• M.B., B.S. degree holder

• Experience in working as a medical doctor

• Should have knowledge of SCH’s Quality Standards

• Should have good English language and report writing skills

• Must be well organized, systematic, dedicated, proactive, responsible and be able to interact well with others • Must be willing and able to travel extensively to all project areas
