It is a local non-governmental organization in Myanmar and is established in particular to advance socially beneficial purposes in Myanmar by promoting and providing information, services and products related to the prevention, promotion, curation and rehabilitation of the major health services including but not limited to HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, reproductive health and non-communicable diseases with the aim of furthering good health, prosperity and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness. This also includes state-of-art training programs, quality assurance programs, and a robust supply chain and logistics system and health financing mechanisms. The Organization may also provide non-health related ancillary services that ensure and improve the well-being of its clientele.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Telehealth Officer holds primary responsibility for delivering medical consultations and counseling services to clients inquiring through the hotline. Additionally, the role encompasses providing essential services to clients in emergency or remote situations and facilitating linkages to GP clinics or higher-level facilities. The Telehealth Officer will also play a key supporting role, assisting the Senior Program Manager in various program-related assignments and tasks.

Job Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of the Tele-Health Officer (HIV) include:

  • Apply medical expertise to remotely diagnose, manage, and refer patients in resource-limited settings.
  • Provide accurate medical information and services through hotlines to clients and service providers.
  • Conduct consultations, counseling, and health education via various platforms (video, chat, hotline, etc.).
  • Facilitate virtual referrals and navigation of the clients to service facilities in ways to meet their preferences for more privacy and convenience ensuring desired linkages to HIV testing, care and treatment.
  • Building on “reach and link” services, provide consultations with a focus on specific risk-reduction, clinical navigation, or counseling needs, including those related to structural barriers to HIV services like stigma, discrimination, and violence.
  • Monitor client progress through follow-up consultations as needed.
  • Collaboration with the SCH satellite sites and Sun ART clinics on supporting the clients to initiate and sustain antiretroviral therapy or PrEP, and tracking to achieving viral suppression.
  • Raise awareness and provide initial assessments for mental health and referring to specialized counselors as necessary.
  • Coach and guide Telehealth Data Assistant.
  • Continuously refine and improve Telehealth operational approaches.
  • Track and report monthly achievements against set targets.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, adhering to consumer data protection policies.
  • Generate required monthly reports and collaborate with the MIS team for reporting needs.
  • Demonstrate financial accountability and responsibility for the telehealth team following organizational rules and regulations.
  • Perform any other additional duties, supporting to Senior Program Manager as required.  

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold a valid M.B., B.S. degree and possess an active medical license.
  • Preferably have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in providing telehealth services.
  • Demonstrate competent use of MS Office applications.
