Job Description
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
This position regularly interacts with site employees, corporate human resources,payroll and various management personnel throughout the organization.
Functions/Responsibilities:
- Assists with every aspect of the recruitment process by coordinating ad placements with various sources, scheduling interviews, checking references, sending correspondence to candidates, conducting interviews for select positions and arranging pre-employment screenings.
- Coordinates and conducts new hire orientations.
- Maintains the SAP System and processes appropriate paperwork to ensure that all transactions relating to employment and benefits are processed in a timely fashion.
- Executes transactions relating to personnel changes and organizational restructuring.
- Responds to employee issues/questions relating to company policy, benefits, employment and general procedures.
- Exercising individual judgment while dealing with potential or real troubles on own initiative and bringing them to manager’s attention. Prepares and ensures timely submission of government requirements relating to COBRA, Unemployment, State/Federal postings VETS 100 & EEO1 reporting, etc.,
- Assists with the year end salary planning process and the implementation of other strategic human resource initiatives.
- Develops and communicates notifications to employee population on occasion.
- Managing sensitive and confidential matters like personnel relations, employee relations, and organizational changes, planning and protecting the security of information, data and files. Records and maintains, in an up-to-date condition, hourly and salaried personnel files for locations.
- Maintains EEO records and Applicant Flow Log for HR Generalist’s locations.
- Performs various other miscellaneous clerical, administrative and support activities and duties including filing, answering phone and screening incoming calls, processing invoices for payment, putting new hire packets together, and other duties as needed.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a Human Resources Department with a focus in manufacturing or operations.
- Knowledge of basic Employment Law (i.e., FMLA, ADA, etc.)
- Computer literate. Proficient with latest office technology systems such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP a big plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; presentation skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated interest and involvement in the human resources/people services function.
- Effective problem solving skills
- Ability to operate in a high stress, fast-paced environment and still be able to deliver results, meet tight deadlines and targets.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
Education:
- Minimum High school diploma; college coursework or degree preferred.
