Summit Sourcing Group is seeking a Product Manager that will be responsible for the quality, integrity, application and usability of our client's elevator control product The Product Manager is an expert-level elevator engineer, requiring a strong background in elevator industry concepts and demands.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities.  The fundamental responsibilities of the position include:

  • Quality assurance as it pertains to the products of the Contract Order Engineering process
  • Continuous product improvement and enhancement
  • Continuous process improvement and enhancement
  • Establishment of engineering standards, methods, and techniques
  • Training and mentoring of less-experienced technical staff members
  • Direct technical assistance to customer base for escalated technical issues – both in-house phone support and/or travel to customer locations
  • Technical support backup when needed
  • Provide customer technical training and technical presentations as needed, both in-house and/or at customer locations
  • New control interface designs, applying existing product capabilities
  • Participation in new product specification and design
  • Expert-level consultation services for internal technical resources
  • Management of product-related documentation
  • Obtaining and maintaining applicable product certifications in conjunction with the product development team
  • Creating and maintaining database for elevator applications (interfaces, code compliances)
  • Provide technical/sales engineering support and/or training when needed and authorized by supervisor

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10+ years in a control engineering and manufacturing environment
  • 10+ years in the elevator industry
  • Knowledge of the entire elevator system environment and requirements
  • Knowledge of industry-related regulatory agencies and their respective requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret line diagrams and schematics
  • Ability to use multi-meters, circuit testers, oscilloscopes, logic probes and other electrical and electronic test equipment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Initiative and self-reliance
