Job Description

This is a 3-6 month contract.

Primarily responsible for the creation and maintenance of computerized rebate contracts and special customer pricing.  This person must effectively partner with Corporate Purchasing, Service Center Leaders, Operations Managers, Account Managers, and Branch- level Accounts Payable Associates to maintain levels of excellence throughout Summit. The primary role is one that supports internal associates and enables them to service our customers. 

Principal Accountabilities: (essential job functions)

  • Read and respond to emails sent to the Rebates queue.
  • Entry and maintenance of contracts through internal and vendor contacts as well as online.
  • Partner with account managers, customer service representatives, operation managers, central replenishment, service center leaders and accounts payable associates
  • Investigate and determine root cause analysis of issues sent into the Rebates queue.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong customer service orientation – both external and internal.
  • Organization.  Proven ability to maintain several concurrent activities.
  • Computer use.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
  • Unwavering commitment to Summit values and mission.
  • Time management – strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility – ability to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, hectic work environment.
  • Proven “whatever it takes” attitude and approach to work.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, hectic environment.
  • H.S. diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Beneficial Skills and Experience 

  • Fast and accurate typing skills.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with ERP software (SAP) and database maintenance a plus.
  • Electrical sales/rebate and/or inventory experience, or distributor experience helpful.

Physical Challenges:

  • Consistent sitting for many hours at one time.  Majority of day (85%+) is spent sitting at desk.
  • Must be able to lift 5 pounds on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Regular and consistent use of keyboard.
  • Ability to climb stairs on occasion.
  • Majority of job is located inside store, during regular store hours of operation. Additional challenges may arise, at which time; Summit may revise this job description.
