Job Description

Summit is looking for a creative and analytical individual with the ability and experience to build, curate, organize and present data into meaningful reports and dashboards that drive well-informed business analysis and decisions. Summit’s Business Intelligence Developer (BI Developer) will support multiple business functions including Senior Leadership, Sales, Marketing, Finance/Accounting and Operations and their relevant power users. Responsibilities will include identifying specific data needs from teams, creating processes to ingest and aggregate relevant data, and building presentation layer and output for business analysis. The ability to perform and resolve issues in a fast-paced and dynamic environment is foundational.

As a Business Intelligence Developer you will:

  • Analyze, design, develop, implement and support Business Intelligence solutions based on business requirements and technical specifications
  • Hands on in Power BI & Power Tool
  • Build Analysis Services reporting models
  • Develop visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards
  • Connect to data sources, importing data and transforming data for Business Intelligence
  • Analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports
  • Have an understanding of application security layer models
  • Competent in DAX queries
  • Use advance level calculations on the data set
  • Design methodology and project documentation
  • Develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with data warehouse standards
  • Adept in development, publishing and scheduling of reports
  • Understand business requirements and develop data models accordingly
  • Have knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis
  • Have knowledge and skills for relevant secondary tools
  • Integrate reports into other applications using embedded analytics or by API automation

Qualifications

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business or equivalent experience in the Business Intelligence realm of reporting and data analytics
  • ITIL Foundations Certification preferred

As a Qualified Candidate your experience will include:

  • 3+ years Business Intelligence Developer experience
  • 2+ years of hands on Microsoft PowerBI is required
  • SAP Business Objects experience is strongly preferred
  • SAP BW experience is preferred
  • SAP ERP knowledge is preferred
  • Distribution or wholesale experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with standardized ETL tools and databases
  • Hands on experience in data preparation, data gateway and data warehousing projects
  • Acquaintance with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack
  • JavaScript, CSS, and other JavaScript libraries
  • Structured Query Language
  • Expertise in understanding business process flow and designing reports
  • Demonstrated experience in requirement gathering, business user interactions and converting requirements into specifications
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to identify data discrepancies, irregularities, trends, and patterns
